Welcome to Western Water Market

I’m Kristina Ribellia, founder and director of operations at Western Water Market.  I launched the market in February 2020 to serve as an information clearinghouse and tool to help connect water right buyers and sellers at the local level.

During my years as a water right professional, it became clear that the public, in general, simply doesn’t know where to go or who to work with when it comes to buying and selling water rights.  Further, the folks who have had the resources and knowledge of how to buy and sell water rights, haven’t been able to easily make a connection and execute a transaction. This confusion, frustration and inefficiency has created missed opportunities for all parties. My hope is that Western Water Market can help change that.

By creating a more open and efficient water market, we’re able to empower water right holders, local buyers and the public in general. And together, we’ll be able to more quickly move water where it’s needed most and ultimately create a more sustainable and vibrant future for all.
