It includes a comprehensive introduction and update on water rights law, updates from regulators, and an inside look at some of the most recent trends and practices.
AWRA Washington Section Annual State Conference 2023

“The Four Corners of Washington – Water Resource Changes and Adaptations"
The conference will highlight water challenges throughout the four corners of Washington State and the innovative ways that individuals are dealing with those issues. It will feature speakers from each of the four corners of Washington with varying perspectives, including agriculture, government, and tribal nations. Speakers will cover topics including municipal water law, adjudication, fish reintroduction, the Yakima Basin Integrated Plan, and climate change. The conference will start with an address from our keynote speaker, Derek Sandison, who is the director of the Washington State Department of Agriculture. Following Derek Sandison’s address, we will have separate panels dedicated to each corner of Washington and a final session focused on more overarching, non-region-specific changes and adaptations.

WestWater Forum: Water Management Needs Water Markets

Please join us on Wednesday, October 11 at 3:00 p.m. at Fieldwork Brewing in Sacramento for networking and a candid panel discussion on how the ability to transfer use of the state’s water resources has allowed California flexibility to respond to drought cycles, develop new industries, support growing communities, and expand agricultural production. This ability to move water is also a critical tool for managing a reduced groundwater supply, addressing environmental needs, and responding to a changing climate.

The Montana Section of the AWRA was founded in 1984 and currently reaches over 750 professionals and students who share the common goal of promoting water resources research, planning, development, and education in Montana. Wetland Law and Policy Workshop
