Big news for big sky country — The Montana market is officially open and serving water right buyers and sellers throughout the state.
We’re proud to be launching the Montana market with HydroSolutions Inc., a Montana-incorporated environmental, water resource, engineering consulting firm founded in 1999, with offices in Helena and Billings.
Together, we share a vision for creating a more open and efficient water market — one that better serves water right buyers, sellers, and communities in Montana and beyond.

“The market for stand-alone water rights (without land) in Montana is in an embryonic stage. To this point buyers and sellers have found each other mostly through word of mouth and maybe occasionally through the newspaper.
“Western Water Market provides a forum that is dedicated to helping buyers and sellers find each other, as well as connect with the consultants and attorneys that can shepherd these complex transactions through to completion. We think this will help lubricate the market and provide opportunities for agricultural producers, conservation organizations, municipal water providers, and industry to address water supply challenges.
